Pokhara is Nepal's number one adventure and leisure destination. Located 200km west of Kathmandu, it is the gateway to the Annapurna circuit. But Pokhara is a destination in itself.
1. Phewa Lake
The center of attraction in Pokhara is Phewa Lake. Rent a colorful boat and paddle out to the Tal Barahi Temple located on an island in the middle of the lake. On a clear day, you can see the reflection of Mt. Machhapuchhre in the water.
2. World Peace Pagoda
Hike or drive up to the World Peace Pagoda (Shanti Stupa) for a panoramic view of the lake, the city, and the Annapurna range. It's a perfect spot for sunset.
3. Adventure Sports
Pokhara is one of the top paragliding destinations in the world. Taking off from Sarangkot and gliding over the lake with the Himalayas as a backdrop is an unforgettable experience. You can also try zip-lining, bungee jumping, or white-water rafting nearby.
"Pokhara paints a picture of serenity with its pristine lakes and magnificent mountain views."
